my phone was bought in December and has been working with no problems until yesterday it says it got too hot and keeps saying it. i cant be on my phone too long without it saying its too hot i can make calls because t gets hot i tried turning it off and leaving it alone but it does not work. i watched videos and it did not help this is the first time im lost what to do. the phone is in perfect condition no cracks no anything.

Check the battery and make sure it’s still in good shape. The 6s is old enough the batteries are likely to fail and it sounds like it has a battery that’s wearing out and is overheating the phone, especially if it has 500 cycles, or just about that many. Does it feel hot? Any noticeable heat at all whatsoever? Even extra warmth?
First,if it’s not actually warm or hot,it could be a software issue…maybe. I’d back it up if you’re able to ASAP,especially irreplaceable photos. Now,it could be software related. You can always use iTunes on the computer to factory reset it and set it up as new. This would mostly rule out software problems…which I doubt it is.
It could be a battery issue. But also,the temperature sensing circuit can also be bad. It can “trick” the phone it’s hot when it’s not. This would require microsoldering to repair it(being its not the battery).
