Why does my cuh-ztc1u controller keep turning off after about 20 secon

I have the ps4 slim and have had it for a while, I had to get an aftermarket controller because mine never came with one where I purchased it 2nd hand from a friend, the controller that I purchased from Wal-Mart was the CUH-ZCT2U, and it went great till I dropped it and broke the micro charging port. I took it apart and clipped the wires connecting the battery to the motherboard and soldered an old usb cable to it and plugged it back in to the chip board plug and it still works to this day, but yesterday I bought a brand new, only used a couple times dual shock 4 controller from a friend and it turned out to be the CUH-ZCT1U. After completely charging the device I reset it and plugged the usb cable into it and powered on the system and waited till it got to my home screen and pushed the ps button, the play station came to life and then my screen went crazy, kinda looked like someone was holding the menu right button, it was rolling by really fast, so I unplugged the controller and plugged in my trusty, jerry rigged controller and powered it on and got the situation under control, and when I picked up the new controller it had powered itself off, and me being me, I pushed the ps button and the thing powered on and immediately synced to my ps4, I said coo and patted myself on the back and then the controller died like someone turned a switch, and the TV read your dualshock 4 controller has been disconnected, and every time that I turn it on, it immediately syncs to my system and works perfectly for about 30-45 seconds then blink, out goes the lights and done. My friend played it the night before all night and the following day till I got to his house and worked fine. !&&* I played on it for bit before leaving his house and coming home, so can anyone out there tell me what the !&&* I did wrong, PLEASE!!!!!

You can always try to update the firmware. To me it sounds hardware related. Does it power off when plugged in? Does it try to charge? It could be one of the 2 chips inside too…the processing and power chips. It’s hard to know otherwise. You can look inside to make sure nothing is shorted(look at the components with a magnifying glass. Sometimes a capacitor will short,a resistor breaks open lined(like breaking a wire in half),or it becomes a wire(becomes no resistance). This can effect the controller as well. If it was dropped,it’s possible one of the chips as broken solder joints. You can use a hot air station to refloat it,and lots of flux. But other than that,it’s really a matter of troubleshooting. It might not be worth it though.
