We have changed the batteries out but it still isn’t responding when buttons are pushed (this one has buttons in the ears, paws, feet, and on the chest). I opened it up and one of the battery coils does look rusty. Is there a safe way to clean it? Any other ideas for us?

MATERIALS NEEDED:
The corrosion is caused by potassium hydroxide which can leak out of the alkaline batteries. So it's best to wear disposable gloves while you're doing this because the chemicals may be caustic. You should also protect your eyes – you don't want this stuff in your eyes.
If your device wasn’t too damaged by alkaline battery corrosion, then next method should work for you.
If none of these steps work, it's sometimes possible to order a replacement circuit board for your device. You'll have to make your own decision about the cost and level of effort you're willing to put into the repair.
Hopefully you will manage to bring it back to life again with only a little bit of work.

I have both the Love to play Puppy and Love to play Sis but Sis' heart doesn't light up or work anymore but when I got Puppy his battery pack was rusty and all I did was use a cloth and now he works, But I don't know how to fix Sis but Puppy is good to go. By the way the boy puppy is modeled 2007 while the girl puppy was modeled 2012 (yes they're older versions)

I have a problem with this too. 2 buttons are not working, the ear and the hand. What can I do? The new ones look different and my 3 year old will not be happy.
