No power to the fuel pump.

I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue that I have changed both the pump and the IPDM and it still will not kick the pump on. I have tried to call the dealer but they say they can only tell me anything if I take the car in for a diagnostics check which is $120 just to tell me what is wrong.

Did you test the fuel pump before replacing it? Did you track down the fuse/relay?

Hi @caleb55

I don’t know your vehicle but have you checked if fuse #57 in the E/R IPDM is OK and has not blown?

I know that you have replaced the IPDM but that is where the fuel pump relay and the fuse to power the pump is located.

Here’s an image taken from this link to the appropriate section of the 2008 Nissan Rogue service manual.

It shows that when the ignition switch is operated, it supplies power to operate the fuel pump relay, amongst other things. When the ignition relay operates it supplies power via fuse #57 and the fuel pump relay contacts to the fuel pump and the fuel sender unit.

If the fuse is blown then there must be a full ground (or earth) somewhere on the wire from the IPDM to the fuel pump or the fuel sender unit.

If the fuse is OK and you are getting power leaving the IPDM on pin 46 and not getting it at the fuel pump or sender unit, then there must be a break in the wire between them.

Is the fuel gauge working at all?

If so then there is a problem between the sender unit and the pump or the pump itself.

This link to the entire manual contents may help if you need to find the wiring routing /connector diagrams.

Hopefully this is of some help.
