The Early 2009 Mac Pro—also known as the Mac Pro 4,1—introduced Intel's Nehalem architecture to Apple's line of professional desktop computers in March 2009. The Mac Pro 5,1 used the same interior design but received further CPU updates in 2010 and 2012.

Updating the CPU for 12 core

I just got a Mac pro mid 2010 8 core (2 x5620) from eBay.

My question is ,

I want to put new thermal paste on the CPU, it's a good idea to buy the upgraded CPU for 12 core?

5680 or 5670? There will be a big difference?

Or to stay with the 5620 8 core?
