My refrigerator turns off as we open it and turns on when we shut door

I have a Kenmore French door bottom freezer model 253.703. Since last couple of days as we open our refrigerator door, refrigerator shuts off. When we shut the door it reboots and starts again. I am not sure what is causing this. Any suggestions to do a diagnosis on it
