After spilling coke, audio jack outs bad audio

I spilled coke into my macbook pro; after drying it and cleaning it, everything seems to be working properly, except that when I connect my headphones to the audio jack; the right channel works perfectly, but the left channel does not out the sound, just noise and a hiss similar to bad tuned FM radios.

What do you think is working bad? What do you think I should do?

Thanks in advance!

Coca Cola is an extremely acidic liquid. From the sound of it, the connection to your audio card has been severed on the left channel. It may be that your headphone jack isn't making proper contact with the connector because of some soda residue (which would be fairly easy to clean out) or worse: your logic board has suffered physical damage from the liquid.

Try plugging in your headphones with audio output on and gently wiggle the plug to see if you hear any difference in the left channel. If so, it may just need to be cleaned, if not the problem is probably more internal.

Electronics Water Damage this is what we normally recommend for ANY liquid. Always do this first, then re-evaluate. Here is a quick FYI about Coke, like any other soft drink, it's acidic. This is because a small amount of the carbon dioxide dissolved in soft drinks will react in solution to form carbonic acid. Many common foods are acidic.Coke products range in pH from 2.5 - 4.2. Coca-Cola Classic® is the most acidic at 2.5. Not really that corrosive. Check the PH of orange juice or lemon juice ...;-) good luck
