PC worked perfectly fine, reorganized wiring, now it won't reach BIOS.

My PC which is a custom build, was working perfectly. Then I decided to replace my two top 140mm fans, remove and plug back in my GPU, and unplug and reroute my SATA cables. Now my computer won't even reach BIOS. My HDD, Disc Drive, and Front USB ports are all plugged in via SATA, and my disc drive, and front ports have power. I don't know if my HDD is being powered, although everything else in my PC is receiving power. I have Windows 7 Professional btw.

What should I do?

Thank you for the replies. I actually know someone who is involved in this site somewhat who told me to post this. I am a rookie noob at PC builds, so I foolishly discovered I forgot to plug the ATX 12V IN! So all is well now.

THANKS! You may take this down now. Or I can figure out how. Or we can leave it for the next person with this issue, since the answers are very informative!

First I would remove the GPU and see if the unit will boot. If yes then re-install the GPU and try to boot again. If the unit does not boot with the GPU removed carefully redo all SATA connections. You might also try temporarily disconnecting the 140mm fans as one of them could be shorted. If these measures fail disconnect in turn the disk drive and the optical drive trying to boot while they are disconnected. I don't believe this has anything ti do with Win7 since you can't reach BIOS. Somewhere in the work you did something is physically incorrect. Good luck.

Listen for any POST error "beep". If not try to disconnect everything but the bare essentials. Disconnect your drives (all of them) and re-seat your memory, remove every module except one. You should hear at least some sort of beeping, since that will indicate that at least your CPU is working. Once you know which BIOS you have, you can identify the errors with the POST beep specifically for your computer. Good Luck ;-)

Way back when _ I_ made interrogative statements as part of an Answer I was told by rj713, it was against policy to ask a question in an Answer. This policy has been applied to others. I'm only following policy as it was explained to me. If that policy has been changed please point me to the appropriate documents. If it hasn't, then moderators should lead by example, don't you agree?

To be honest machead I do not remember ever making such a statement. If I did I was mistaken at the time and apologize for doing so. As a matter of policy for me I will not change answers to comments or any answer that has received an uptick. I don't feel its right to take away points given by someone who saw value in the answer.
