Reuse iPhone battery as a back up
I just ordered an iPhone 7 replacement battery kit. The current battery still works ‘OK’ and I’m wondering if there is a way to utilize it as a ‘USB back up battery pack’ vs disposing?

I’m not aware of any adapter that would allow you to use an older battery as a power bank but I’m convinced if it would exist it would be a money waste as you can buy a power bank that would suffice a couple iPhone full charges and more for around 20$, including a brand new high capacity battery.

@tmaslide As far as the battery is disposed properly and can return to re-cycling I believe that's good enough for piece of mind :) Thanks for asking..
Out of curiosity, what would be needed to connect an iPhone battery to a USB port? TIA
@tmaslide Honestly I have no clear answer to your question, but an iPhone battery is a very basic device, two power lines and one data line. I'd think one would need a micro logic board with an IC that can manage communication and power between battery and the Usb interface..I'm sure something capable of that already exists in the market but it goes beyond my knowledge on what it would exactly be.
