Loud fans after repair by Apple

I've been using Macbook Pros for four years now, the one I'm using now (late 2010) is actually my fourth, and I've had loud fan problems with all of them. However, I've got the feeling that they're acting just fine in the beginning, constantly running on 2000 rpm and only spinning up on real heavy work load, but each time I take an MBP into repair and get it back the fans start acting all weird. I should probably mention that I've had warranty-related repairs with all four MBPs, two of them actually being replacement machines.

Could it really be that the geniusses mess it up every time? I heard that unnormal fan behavior could be related to incorrectly installed heat sensors or thermal paste on the cpu. This time, I got my screen replaced as it was having uneven backlighting and some coloring issues. Could it be something went wrong during the exchange process?

You know everyone that works on these are human. And they put warranties on them should someone mess up or they got a bad part. If you feel the computer is not working right when you get it back from Apple, CALL APPLE. I had one client who had her computer sent to Apple for repair and within three days of getting it back it was on fire. Apple had her ship it back and they fixed it to include replacement case due to cosmetic issue and all is well. But you have to stand up for yourself with Apple. They are wonderful to work with but if you get someone who says that is normal operations and you feel it is not, ask to talk to a supervisor. That's what they are there for.

Good answer, yes. I know they're all just guys like you and me, I mess up stuff from time to time myself. However, it's really frustrating if stuff like that happens to literally every Apple-product you buy. I buy an expensive computer because I want to use it without worrying about it breaking down someday and not to take it back to repair every couple of weeks. I don't know how many times I've been at the Genius bar or called Applecare in the last four years. I think I stopped counting after the fifth time.

I really hope you have good luck in the future and am thankful that I have not had to go through the stuff you have had to deal with. Ken
