Lost USB dongle. Can I sync to another?

I've lost the USB dongle to my afterglow controller, but I brought a used one off a neighbor and since my controller is in better condition than theirs is I was hoping to be able to sync my controller to their dongle…it doesn't seem to be working for me though so I'm starting to wonder if its even possible. There appears to be a sync button on the back of the controller though, so logically I would think it should go thru… can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just impossible?

I have the same issue. I have an old Afterglow Dongle and a new Afterglow PS3 controller that didn't come with the dongle. BUT...they will not pair. I have tried...both lights blink, but then the controller just stops/turns off. They never go solid.

How do I pair my Afterglow Wireless controller to my USB dongle?

  1. Plug the new USB dongle into your PS3.
  2. Now, press and hold the Home button (power button) on the controller until the LED on the USB dongle and the 4 indicator LED's on the controller are solid.

I have done this...but it never goes solid. They both blink until the controller finally turns off. :(

The dongle you have is for like a ps4 not a ps3 controler

The Genius:

1. Plug the cable to an outlet

2. Now press the main button that's in the upper area of your remote ( On/Off power button) and wait until your TV turns on.
