Ribbon for 2009 MacBook Pro
I am trying to replace a ribbon for my hard drive MACBOOKPRO 2009. There are two listed on this site. Which one should I get?

If you are upgrading your hard drive to a faster one I would go with the 2012 cable. There are two, one with the bracket and one without, I do the one without because of cost:

Will the 2012 cable actually fit a 2009 configuration?
Sometimes the hard drive bracket bar needs to be clipped so that the middle portion is removed. Also sometimes both screw holes do not line up. In the latter case I just use Kaptan tape. Also the cable gets damaged by contact with the bottom cover. To protect it I use Scotch Extreme mounting tape. See (blow up) the image I posted to the original answer. This new cable is built for the faster drives.
