Stuck on Apple Logo after replacements

Hello everyone,

Hoping someone can help. I have changed many 5c/5s parts but just done my first iPhone 7 Plus. I bought it from someone on Facebook who said it didn’t charge. The screen and housing were in poor condition so I also decided to replace them. I bought them from the same supplier I buy my 5s parts from.

I replaced the screen, battery, charging port, housing. Upon boot up it just comes up with the Apple logo and goes no further. I have put it in recovery mode and iTunes does NOT recognise it (tried on 2 different computers).

I have tried removing the front camera connector as well as putting the old screen back on (without the home button) and it is still the same.

The phone is currently on charge with the old screen on (with no home button and no front camera connected). I will leave it over night to see if it fixes it.

Does anyone have any insight into what else I could try? Problem is I don’t know if it was like this before I bought it as I couldn’t test it due to it not charging!

Occasionally the Apple logo will flicker as though it’s trying to boot.

Thank you.

Update:

After being on charge for a couple of hours the apple logo has gone and now just shows the charging battery sign. Removed the old screen and put the new one on with the home button and front facing camera plugged in.

Battery isn't moving up just shows an empty battery even though it's plugged in.

You have introduced a lot of variables here. Your first step is to figure out if this logic board can charge or not. To do that, you need a KNOWN GOOD (not new, known good) charge port and battery and usb ammeter. Connect JUST the charge port and battery to the logic board outside of the housing. See if the device can draw ~1A current through the usb ammeter. (https://ipadrehab.ecwid.com/#!/USB-Ammet...)

If it does—then the logic board is able to charge and you can then evaluate your charge ports—find a good one and install it in the housing, then add the logic board and see if the board can still charge while in the housing. (Often non-standard housings can ground out the charge port). Continue to add back variables and test after each troubleshooting step. If the logic board can NOT charge with KNOWN GOOD port and battery, then it needs microsoldering repair.

Thank you Jessa. I will purchase one of those devices and carry out the tests you have suggested.

Another update is now there is nothing on the screen. Won't load up the Apple logo or charging sign.

I have also sent you a message on Facebook and to your email.
