Why is my display changing colors when being tilted?
When every i tilt my screen in a certain direction my display will change colors/slightly flicker. I have a feeling its a cable and apple said it would cost me $500 for them to fix it…

Sounds like a display cable problem to me. Personally I would let Apple do this repair because these machines were not meant to be repaired by any one else but Apple Techs.
However, if you are brave enough to do this yourself you can buy a new display cable below. I think you will have access to the display cable while doing this guide, just don’t remove the screen assembly though.

I honestly would if they weren't asking me to fork over $500 for a problem that they actually weren't even sure what was causing it. Thank you for your answer!
Do make sure you get a Real Apple display if you decide to do this your self. Their maybe issues with other display units. I've done a few now but I've always used a parts system for the needed part.
Hmmm, the steps don't show how to replace the display cable.
You can't ;-{ Its soldered to the T-CON board as well as within the displays LCD. You need to replace the complete assembly here.
Apple is literally the worst lol
