My iPhone 5S (just the board, charging port, battery, screen and home button) boots into recovery even after successfully restoring i iTunes. I’ve tried the reboot out of recovery software programs and nothing works. The battery isn’t defective, It’ll only hold a charge for about 2 hours mixed use.

The signal for a board to boot into recovery mode is home button held down with usb cable plugged in. Take away those variables and see if the board will boot (i.e. disconnect home button and boot with power button not usb)

The only way I've gotten it to boot is by removing the USB when the apple logo appears which I've read is a symptom of board damage (don't know how true that is)

Try to restore with 3uTools and post results.

The iPhone 5s appears to have board damage and will only boot if you disconnect the charger at the apple logo
