Removing UK carriage Return Key from 2017 MacBook Pro

I wouldn't assume that it's under warranty.

You'll need to pry up a key from the correct side, in the case of the UK carraige return/ enter key it's on the left hand edge (there are more than one given the non rectangular shape).

Be very gentle when doing any prying, the butterfly hinge underneath is plastic and tiny parts of it are easily broken.

@ckclc - All of the Butterfly keyboard Mac's are still covered under the extended warranty program. So you should assume the it is covered!

It seems like the 2016-2017 is no longer going to be covered at this point. It may be where the 2016 is going to go on the vintage list so they will be SOL. 2017 has to be next.

Maybe they'll keep them going until they run out of parts because of how bad they screwed up with this keyboard. Who knows, but I sure wouldn't buy a used one knowing they're a perpetual question mark WHEN it happens, and how long we're protected.

July 2017 was the first date of sale for this system. "The program covers eligible MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro models for 4 years after the first retail sale of the unit."

Even still Apple is still covering the 2016 systems a friend of mine just got theirs fixed (for the third time).

One sizable benefit is getting a new battery!

@danj I still wouldn't recommend anyone buy one if you're late, but if you own it you're screwed on the resale because we all know.

After 3, I'm demanding a new computer personally. On one hand I should have bought them when they were hot in 15" form because all I'd need to do to get a 16" is complain but I probably dodged a bullet. I was hesitant because all they did for years is throw replacement keyboards at the problem.
