Hi all,
While watching the TV, it will power off and the power LED will blink 10 times. Then we unplug the TV for a while, plug it back in and it works….for a while. It does seem to happen more frequently in warm weather but the correlation isn’t perfect.
Have replaced PA and H boards and cleaned out all the fans but this has not solved the problem.
Suggestions?

this is one of those case where I’d be looking a the power (P) board more closely. Your new boards are of course new boards etc. Check the caps and traces for obvious damage. It is easily possibly that weak capacitors fail easier in higher temperature. Of course can’t rule out other components like MOSFET’s that have the seame behavior. Is there any reason not to just swap the P board out? Seems easier than trying to find the offending bugger. Is there any other board I should be also looking at?
Should have said. THANKS for the quick and helpful response. And, any recommendations on where I should buy this part (as it appears that the best that I will be able to find will be refurbished)?
@charlieopp that is what I would do I but am always hesitant to suggest that to others. I hate spending my money and don't like to suggest things that cost other people money ;-) Buy it from a place that has a good return policy....just in case.
I always wonder that when boards are only available in rebuild or used form if that is not because the original boards have a high failure rate....Get a inexpensive rebuild and see what it does. You did make sure all your fans are working, correct.
Hi "sir oldturkey", I got an inexpensive PS board (actually 2). I'm thinking that for preventative measure I should replace some of the likely-to-fail components before I install it. Which would you recommend that I swap? I can post a picture if that's helpful. But the boards look brand new....so no obvious problems. Thanks again.
@charlieopp I wouldn't. There really are no components that are known to fail, so it would be difficult to determine which ones to replace. I would Leave it and wait to see if anything will go wrong with it.
