DSi won't turn on after attempted disassembly

I attempted to disassemble my friend's DSi for him after he said it wasn't working due to an error. He could turn on the DSi but after attempting to launch any applications a message would come up instantly saying "an error has occurred. Please hold the power button" etc.

How can I solve this issue and error?
