Power Steering Shut Down

So, I've come to suspect that the serpentine belt on my 2002 Ford Escape has broken, due to the A/C having given out, multiple power steering issues, a burning smell, and now the power steering simply doesn't work. I don't know if I'm able to safely drive to a mechanic to get it fixed.
