My Samsung TV: D5000 Stopped Working / Five Flashes

Happened last night, tried to turn on with the remote, but didn't. Noticed no red LED standby light on bottom corner of TV. Unplugged, then replugged and was given five blinking flashes which then goes off. (showing no more red light)

Unplugged and left for a few hours then plugged back in but still the same.

Really need some help on this, not sure what to do! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am willing to take apart but not sure if there is something simple!

———- update ———-

Thanks @oldturkey03 for the reply and sorry I have not been back in touch sooner, I have been so busy I have only had the chance to take the back off today and had a look.

I have looked all over at the boards I can viably see, the main board and power but I cannot see any leakage or burns, nothing looks out of the ordinary, no loose cables etc.

I have detached the cable you specified also and turned on the tv and the backlight does come on.

I have taken several photos, hopefully they are clear and you might see something I have not. If you need anymore let me know and I will retake.

Once again, thanks for the help and sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you. Hopefully this will be a quick fix (hoping to get it sorted by the end of this week)

Samsung officially does not have blink codes. So, the 5 blinks are a code for failed power on without further relevance. Most likely not a really easy fix but possibly fixed by repairing/replacing a board. You will have to remove the back of your TV and take a look at all the boards.

Check for obvious damage like domed looking leaking capacitors etc. Check all the wiring. Then you want to do a few things. Disconnect the main board from the power board (CN201 on the main board) and turn your TV on. Let us know if you now have the backlight on. Post some really good pictures of your boards with your question. That will allow us to see what you see. Use this guide 在已经存在的问题里加入图片 for that.

Update (08/28/2018)

just to the right of the connector to the T-con board you should see a white component. that is teh fuse for the T-con board. Use a meter and check it for continuity as well as power when you turn your TV on. You should get about 12V on it. Right now the choices of what has failed are between your main board and your T-con board. you should also check connector CNM803 and verify that all the voltages as printd on the boards are there.
