Very laggy and overheats, even after reset.

So I know this is a long shot, and I probably will need to just chuck it at a wall and buy a new phone, but this phone is very laggy (unusable, takes minutes to even type, and apps never load) and it overheats very badly. I measured the battery temperature at 130 degrees Fahrenheit just at its home screen with no apps or services running. I know replacement batteries are inexpensive, but I am beginning to think that it is the processor. No point in replacing anything if the processor is shot.

What does the ifixit community think I should do?

The overheating problems often come from the battery, so what you might want to do at first is to try and change it, luckily for you batteries are not that expensive when you consider the average price of phone parts, so you could just order one and replace it to see if it changes anything (for example there are S7 Edge batteries on http://www.cpix.fr/store).

There is also a small chance that it comes from your motherboard, or that the heat has damaged it, in this case there is unfortunately not much to do

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'm going to get a new battery, and hold-out until the Note 9.
