Before you do that, turn the TV to a station where you know it would have a picture. the dim your room and shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen. See if you can make out shapes, silhouettes etc. If so, it is your backlight that has given out. The possibilities with your TV could be a failed power board, failed, t-con board, failed LED driver or a failed backlight array.
