Intermittently Beeps and Flashes Error Code F2

I have a Kenmore Elite Oasis HE Top Load Washer (Model #11027072602). Last week, the washer randomly turned on during the day…sounded like it was attempting a rinse cycle. It then stopped, and intermittently began beeping. The next day, I ran a load, and after it was complete, it began beeping again with an error code of F2 flashing.

No water was left in the spin basket, but after taking the sheet metal backing apart, it looks like there may be a gallon or two in the outer tub (I’ve read that this is normal for balancing). I proceeded to remove the metal clips and screws holding the drain pump in place - hoping to find something lodged in there - but it looked relatively clean (aside form some minor scum buildup along inside of tube). The drain hose also wasn't clogged or kinked. I don't believe this model has a coin trap (or at least, I haven't been able to locate it) - and I also can't find the pump filter to see if that's dirty.

Online, I've read that the F2 error is either a clogged/faulty drain pump. When chatting with Sears Part Department, the online representative said their literature points to a 'User Interface' failure. Any suggestions on what the issue could be? I don’t want to spend $100+ on a new drain pump, just to find out it didn’t fix the problem.

Thanks!

Bill Michael sounds like an issue with the control board. I would start off by running the diagnostics and see what the tests show. That should also help to narrow it down and prevent you from spending unnecessary money, Oasis-Diagnostic.pdf
