why are my apps flashing then going back to the home screen when i tap

basically that's a sign that the app has crashed - the app quits and you go back to the home screen.
have you tried powering your iPod off and then on again? sometimes a power-on reset can clear up crashing apps that have just been downloaded and installed. try that first and report back if any change. also, is this all apps, or only certain ones?

Try as "Back" said hard reset it....
does it work for iPhone 4s???
It still doesn’t work after I tried all thise things
My Instagram not letting me get on my page it keep going to my homepage then when I log in on someone else page it work
For me it’s just a single app

I got the solution just go in settings then apps then open the three dot menu and click reset app preference
it worked for me

What about on a iPad . Facebook ok my phone is working

it happens to me all the time somtimes u have to turn it off and some times u just dont go on it for a view days and wait and try again

I restarted my device and that was the only thing that worked. I tried all the other ways and all of them didn’t work for me. To restart hold down your power button and it will give you the option to power off or restart and press restart. Hope this helps!

My Snapchat kept crashing so I deleted it and went to re-download it but in the App Store it still says open in stead of download. I’ve restarted my phone and reset my setting but nothing will work. How do I fix it ?

Nah. Just cuz that happens don’t mean someone got a Samsung. I have an IPhone 8 and my Snap does the same thing, and I don’t know why people still care what kind of phone other people have like wtf. If you had a Samsung you’d be sayin the same thing so don’t say “it’s prolly cuz you got a Samsung”
bro I have an iPhone 8 plus
Today my app won’t open I’m guessing it’s crashing and sending me to the home screen because of the notifications. Don’t delete the app I’m guessing if you turn off the notifications for that certain app, it has a possibility that this can be the fix.

I dont know y my messenger cant open in apps than when I have open the apps it close back ownself and go back to home screen again..is oni happens in this 1 app others is jus still and okay nothing happend.

On my Android I go on Snapchat and when i go to message someone it goes there but then it goes straight to my home screen. It will let me do other thing like add to my story but it won't let me text my friends
