What do I need to know absolutely donts more important I guess than the dos can I just go head and run inverter and amp and light bars from battery? Any personal exp out there on "hard wiring?" The smaller stuff cb radios light strips anything that plugs into a cigarette lighter something better than splicing 9 things into the one set of CIG lighter wires? I hope I'm making sense

Hi,
First check that the car's alternator is capable of handling the extra power requirements. If it can't then replace it with one that can handle the extra load
If it doesn't then your battery will be discharging when you are using your "add ons" as the extra power has to come from somewhere. Also things mightn't work properly as the voltage level may drop if the load is too much for the alternator.
Your "add ons" load is on top of running all the car's electrical needs. which the alternator's output value was originally chosen to cater for (plan on perhaps being required nearly all at the same time, it can happen - stopped in traffic on a wet hot night - aircon on full, wipers on high speed, headlights on, brake lights on, then with "enhanced" stereo on, cb turned on etc etc
