My Samsung DVD home theater system HT-DL200P keeps turning itself off

My home theater keeps turning itself off a few seconds after turning it on. You cannot get any of the buttons to work any functions such as eject, play etc. I have read that the face plate could be bad and to take the top and front off and pull a brown tape to disable the face plate and it will only work with the remote, which is fine since we only use the remote. The problem is there is no brown ribbon in ths unit. Any ideas?
