Why is my N64 not displaying video/audio?

Hello,

Today I tried booting up my N64 for the first time in awhile. I was greeted with a black screen when I turned the console on, and that was it. I did some searching around for a solution and have tried just about everything besides ripping it apart. I'd like to avoid doing this if possible. The strange thing is that Donkey Kong 64 is the only game that will actually work, but up until you get to the theme song. At that point the screen goes black and nothing happens after. Besides that, every other game I've tried hasn't had any kind of signal to the TV. Just a black screen when I turn it on. Anything would help.
