Battery exploded, is the board damaged?

Hello Everyone,

I had a problem while fixing my friends iphone 6, as the battery was a bad one, and it exploaded during the action. Luckily, only the sim card plastic tray was burnt as I was able to see in addition to the fcp connector of the screen and front camera as they got out of thir places. My question is, would it work if I solder an fcp connector to the board? and what is the most recommended liquid flux to be used?

You can replace FPC connectors but it's not as easy as it looks. You have to balance heat, solder and plastic all at once and if you make a wrong move, you will have a curled up molten mess of FPC :>).

As for flux, any good quality flux will do, the paste kind generally works better than liquid. You can use Amtech, Quick, MG Chemicals etc. Preferably the NO-CLEAN variety.

Oh my, that board has had a rough day!

You should practice on a dead board first to see how it goes. Videos won't help much although I'm sure Jessa or Jason (STS) have some videos.
