Replaced battery and caused damage to cable and/or screen

I replaced my Nexus 6P battery for the second time (the first time it worked just fine, but the new battery was crappy and it only lasted a few months).

After replacing the battery (the second time), the phone now does not appear to start up and I think the cable below the battery may have been damaged when I pulled the battery out. Pressing the power button triggers the "vibrate" on the phone but the screen does not light up and it does not appear to boot up.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Is there any way to replace this cable without replacing the entire screen? Or is there something else that might have caused this issue during the battery replacement (the rest seemed pretty straightforward).

Just a thought ... if you can see the trace lines on the ribbon cable and see where they are damaged you may be able to fix them withconductive glue . Each trace will need to be kept separate from the rest . so great care will be the order of the day when applying the glue and you will need to cover the ribbon withliquid electrical tape when done . Hope this helps

I would say take it back apart and check for cable damage. These things tear quite easily.

Update (12/30/2017)

If the cable is damaged then yes you will need to get another replacement screen.
