I found this Genesis with no games, do I need a game to power it on?
I have all I need for it but a game, do i need a game to have it turn on or show the red light or can it show me some life without it?

It would show life as long as a power cord is plugged in and working properly. However a game would be necessary to play it. A game may be hard to come by this day and age.

Without a game you won’t see anything on screen (maybe a flicker) bit the power LED should turn on no matter what. No light, definitely no power and having a game plugged in won’t help.
