Car stalled several times

I was driving started back up stalled 6times on way home having trouble with the starter going to replace it tried tapping starter before I left may have lightly touched the distributer didn't damage anything last 2days no problem could this have caused my problem ran fine today was going to replace gas filter anyway help thank you
