Epson L555 get scanner error "scanner is busy" when it isn't.

I get a scanner error "scanner is busy" when it is not. I turned off the printer and turned it back on again, removed printer and reinstalled it again. Nothing clears the error. I tried going through the system set up but I can only make out the top part of the message window because the bottom part of the words in the message does not appear.

Any suggestions in how to get rid of error message?
