touch screen freezing repeatedly

Hello everyone!

Actually I've searched several places into this community, but couldn't find an answer that fits what I suppose is the problem.

What is happening is the constant and persistent freezing on the screen of my Iphone. When it happens the devise blocks and the only way to resume working on it is the light off of screen and start that all over and even some times doesn't work properly and I have to do againi the previous steps.

I've already tried several processes including reset the phone into its factory configuration, but didn't work.

Is there anybody able to inform any possible cause and possible step to fix it?

If you've done a Factory reset then it pretty much has to be hardware. Replacing the touch screen (about $100 in USA) may take care of it.

Gents, in addition to my above question one more thing I've remembred about this tiouch screen t is about probably some ghosts doing something on it.

Actually the screen starts application withou a single touch sometimes looking like a ghost is doing something invisibly. Looks like a joke, but this is happening very often. So this is also a possibility of changing the display and solve these issues or should I check something else??

I had exactly the same issue. That was why I came here through Google search. Since I didn't get a solution from the Web. I used my own way. The problem is solved. At lease, a few days now. My way is: slam the phone on your palm once or twice. Your palm can cushion the force. It won't damage the phone. But it will fix the issue.

I'm also having this problem and like you I slam the phone on my palm BUT this only works sometimes. I thought I'd solved the problem for good a few weeks ago but the problem as returned. Any ideas?

When you say the screen freezes, do you mean that it wont respond to touch or that the phone itself is "locked up" (won't repsond to any buttons like volume, mute or home)?

If it is not responding to touch, it may be suffering from Touch Disease. You can go to my profile for a link to a blog post I wrote on this subject (or you can search Google). Touch Disease is prevalent on the iPhone 6P and less so on the iPhone 6 but it does occur.

You may have a screen issue or a logic board issue. A simple way to determine this is to try a known-good replacement screen (follow this guide). If another screen works fine, than your original screen is defective. If the replacement screen does the same, then you have a logic board issue, possibly Touch Disease. This requires a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY.

Hi Minho. Many thanks for all your comments. In fact I've read about this Touch Disease and regretfully couldn't realize whether this could be my issue or not. As for the questions, the Iphone freezes the touch screen only, but the home button and other keep on working. FYR when it happens I press the home or switch on/off keys to do something like a reset then resume whatever I was doing and sometimes once is not enough.

Besides this may not be the place or time to say so, I can't understand a Co like Apple spreading all over they are he best and produce best devices in the world, the most expensive and even though they are going through thousands of failures on daily basis.

If any further suggestion may rise from this I'll really appreciate and thank you.

I slam my iPhones on my palm gentlely or you can push buatton for blank screen and wait for 5 seconds and the problem is solve.. well done!

I would before doing a screen repair, doing a DFU restore.

also if you put pressure on the top right side of the phone does it start glitching? it could be a iC chip damage

Did DFU restore no help. Squeezed on top right side of phone and the screen became active again. What is a iC chip?

Apple now acknowledge this is a known issue with unshielded components on the motherboard being dislodged. Basically bad design. Dropping or flexing the phone initially creates the problem which is why hitting or gently twisting can temporarily solve the issue .

After a lot of pressure from consumers Apple have finally accepted responsibility and in some territories will replace the phone for around $175.00. Good luck.

How do we get apple to replace the phone for $175.00 That would be worth it versus spending $800 for a new phone.

I also have similar problem and I slam the phone onto my palm every time. This is ridiculous for the ‘best’ phone in the world!

hi, i have tried slamming,but it only works in 1 out of 10 times, i have also changed the mother board and some other things,better still getting a new phone is the only option

IPHONE 6 PLUS My problem is that of most but with a different spin as mine will start typing and while typing it will open a web site and some apps, I have restored in std. and dfu. mode from backups and as new phone. Heres another twist to my problem it only happens when its in the case!!! I bought a Otter box on ebay for my 6 Plus FOR 14 BUCKS , and I had a screen protector a cheapie thin plastic one so I ripped it off and put back in the case and it froze right away, I rebooted but its freezing off and on so I take out of the case reboot and it works fine. I was thinking that some how STATIC ELECTRICITY was messing with it so I put a grounding strap on the case but it did nothing so we definitely have a screen issue caused by possibly a bad logic broad . I bought the phone 2 months ago with a warranty I think I've got about 170 bucks I paid for it with the warranty so I'm sending mine in see if I get a different 64 gig 6 plus ,,,, thanks for reading wish I would have found this before I bought but thats life in the real world.

Well, I did the paid fix .. and a few months later the freezing recurred.

By trial and error I have found the easiest fix that quickly and definitely works.

Just press the start button (upper right side of phone) off and on slowly and repeatedly 4 or 5 times .. approximately.

The freezing stops and all is ok again.

I recently had the same problems (ghost typing and screen freezing) with my 64Gb iPhone 6+. To cut a long story short I downloaded all my images and videos from the phone onto my PC, switched the phone off and then on and the problem was solved. Been working fine again for two days now.
