What is wrong with my battery?

My battery randomly drains from time to time (like 1% every 30 seconds) and works perfectly sometimes. A 10 min youtube vid sometimes takes 2% battery while other times takes 10%.

-phone works and functions perfectly

-battery has been calibrated

-charging times are normal ~ 2 hours for full charge

-battery has been recently replaced, perfect wear level on batterylife

-not any apps or anything (checked THOROUGHLY)

-low power mode doesnt change anything

-drains 10% to 30% overnight (~8 hours) no use, no notifications popping up

-turned phone off, waited a few minutes, then plugged charger. It turned on. (if this means anything)

Is this because of a bad u2 ic chip?

Or a bad replacement battery?

Or anything else?

Are you synced with a Mac or PC when you hook up? Diagnostic tools are different.

It sounds like you are on the right track in your diagnosing...but to be sure, check battery replacement is good. Measure the charging circuit to very it is indeed putting out proper voltage to charge. It could be battery, Charging port or the charging IC (s), U2 (Tristar) or Tigress.

Update (08/09/2017)

I'm sorry, I meant you could measure the voltage using a multimeter where the battery plugs in.

Here is a youtube video link that may help.

I would recommend trying a new battery, if you continue to have problems then it's probably the u2 ic chip or a software issue rather than hardware. It's fairly common for batteries to be defective occasionally.
