My 70" SAMSUNG UA70KU7000KXXA UHD FLAT SMART TV Screen has a crack straight down the left hand side of the screen only visible when the unit is powered on. There is colour on the outskirts of the screen other than that everything is black. Sound works perfectly and it still responds to the remote.
Can this be fixed?

Varneah Hartungyou can try to see if it is covered under warranty, but LCD damage is usually not. There is no way of fixing it. The panel will have to be replaced. This is where the real trouble starts. Panels that size are not widely available if they are at all. The cost for a replacement panel including shipping will be more than a new TV. You can try and see if you find a set that uses the same panel but has other issues than the panel and harvest the replacement from that. To search for a replacement panel, use the manufacturers label glued to the panel and not your TV model.

I bought the TV on auction a few days ago and it was working perfectly. I guess it's during the transport home that it could've damaged. Cost me quite a few bucks so hopefully I can sort it out at a reasonable price. Thanks so much for your advice!!!

Best bet would be to return it and get a new one. There are no 70" glass screens that you can buy to replace it. It should have a warranty on it.
