iPhone 6 won't turn on after water damage clear up

Hi ifixit family!

The iPhone 6 dropped in a water and won't turn on anymore. I checked and remove the capacitor C5202_RF (smoked/sorted). In this process, unfortunately, I broken the resistor R5201_RF. But after this this iPhone turn on (power supply shows 0A when tunr off)... I tested the basic functions (digitizer, LCD, sim card slot) and were OK.

Checking the board I saw some "oxidation" on LCD connector and near of baseband shield, so I removed the baseband shield and the other side shield and put the logic board in UltraSonic Cleaner whit 99.9% Isopropanol . After 2 cicles of 10 minutes I brushed the board (ESD safe brush).

For my surprise after the clear up process the board won't turn on. The power supply shows 0A and when I press power button the iPhone won't turn on and the power supply still 0A.

Suggestions for look up the board problem?

Thanks and sorry my bad english

Felipe

You need to use actual electronic cleaner in your ultrasonic cleaner (like Branson EC with DISTILLED water). I follow the treatment with a soak in 100% isopropyl alchohol to remove any residual moisture. Then dry it (i use a toaster oven heated to 212f . The most important part is using the correct solution in your cleaner. Alchohol is great for degreasing and flux clean up but won't fully dissolve any water corrosion or oxidation deep underneath SMD chips, etc.

@teetopp01

No, after I remove the C5202_RF the short is gone

updade: I removed all shields and check on a microscope and don't find any "issue" like components smoked or corroded.
