Film won't rewind on Yashica T3 Super D

Yashica T3 Super D

I've used the 24 exp, and attempted to rewind the film by pushing the grey button on the bottom of the camera. I remember hearing it rewind, but when I opened the backing the film was still showing. I'm not sure the pictures can be salvaged, but I'd like to try to fix it so I can use it in the future. Thank for any help!
