Tire Pressure light won't turn off

I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox and the TPMS light flashes for about a minute when the in and will remain on after flashing . It has been this way for over a month since one of the tires did not have a tpms sensor, but the tire has one now and after that one tire got the new sensor, the TPMS system will not detect ANY tires at all whatsoever and the light continues to flash even though the tires are fine. How do I get this fixed? I tried to reset the tire learning but even then it still did not work.

You'll need to reset the TPMS system so all of the sensors are seen. Here's a good vid which explains: How to Reset Tire Pressure Monitoring System on 2012 Chevy Equinox. You may need to talk with the dealer who put in the new sensor if the reset fails.

I have a 2008 and put a new TPMS sensor on one wheel and installed four new tires. The low tire pressure warning sign stays on and tells me in my computer on dash that the right front tire is low and reads one pound. The tech checked all sensors and they read proper pressure. It still won’t reset

The tire pressure light will be lit when:

1) Tire pressure is below the recommended value

2) Tire pressure exceeds the value for the vehicle.

3) One of the tire pressure sensors has been damaged.

The one that stumps most people is when the pressure exceeds the safe value for the vehicle. The pressure should be within 5 lbs of the pressure listed on the doorframe of the vehicle. Note that front and back tire pressures may be different.

You need to take it to a dealer or someone with a diagnostic machine capable of programming the sensor to you vehicle. It doesn't automatically recognize the sensor or you would be picking up the tire pressure of the guy you are parked next to at the grocery store.

TPMS sensors on different vehicles can be painful, it's good to keep in mind that each of these sensors often have a battery and those batteries can run out. If you pop down your local, good, tyre/tire shop they should have the appropriate testing equipment to determine which sensor is causing problems. Again if a sensor is replaced, it needs to be the exact specification for the vehicle, replacing with any TMPS sensor will not work - the vehicle will fail to see the sensor and the light will remain on. It sounds like you might have this issue. It's worth getting the tyres/tires checked by a competent garage.

disclaimer were based in the UK, hence tyre :-) and unfortunately can't help with a competent garage
