Phone will not turn on at all, the issue isn't with charger.

Okay so about a year ago while I was on vacation, my phone (LG G2) just randomly shut off and refused to turn on. I thought maybe it's a charger issue so I used multiple various chargers but to no avail. I took it to a repair shop and he told me that the motherboard was broken and that's it there was nothing that could be done, so I just bought a new phone and kept my old one thinking maybe it would randomly turn on again. The only reason I want my phone back is there is SO much saved photos on there that I want, photos that I had with my mother who has now passed away that haven't been backed up anywhere else. Conversations with people that I had saved that I want to read back on. That was a phone I had for only two years before it just completely died out on me for no reason. It did not fall or endure any water damage at all. I know that the repair guy said there's no hope of fixing it but I mean is there anything at all that may revive it? I mean, revival of the phone without wiping it all out?
