Screen problems after replacing with NON original

Hi everyone,

(I have repaired several iPhones parts in my life)

After replacing one iPhone 5s screen the first time it all seemed to work well instead after 1 day circa the user reported it had problems (screen responds bad at the touch, clicks itself or doesn't recognise where it was clicked).

For this reason I have put the original screen back and it was working flawlessly.

However I changed it again a second time with a different screen and the iPhone had the same problems after about a day. So I did it the third time with another one , same thing. The fourth time it seemed to work correctly, but after about a month the screen has problems again :(.

I want to mark out that putting the original screen back makes it work flawlessly.

So is it that aftermarket screens are causing the problem or could it be something else?

I always do the same procedure.

''PS: I have read a question where it says it might be the LCD shield plate (where the black soft material is on the right side) having a scratch (which it does in my case if I remember correctly), may this be the reason? Could I fix it by using isolating tape?

''

Thanks everyone for your advices.

First of all. Have you made sure that the iPhone's metal housing frame does not have dents going inwards of the phone (particular in the corners) or bends obstructing the screen from sitting on properly when installing the screen onto the phone?

If it requires you to force the screen in or require effort to put back in where it should be easy then you will have issues with the touch screen suddenly stop working / ghost touching.

If you do end up forcing the screen with a dented frame the touch screen ends up going bad and you will need to bend the frame back closest to it's original condition (The closer it is the better) to avoid the screen being squished in when installed also another screen may need to be installed (It's better to do this to avoid touch screen issues for customer / client coming back again).

Also check if the long vertical digitizer / touch screen connector on the logic board is not worn out / or damaged, it's also worth cleaning with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

Have you also tried holding home + power button for 15 seconds to hard shut off phone and turn it on again and see if touch screen is having issues?

Thanks for your answer. Last time he brought the iPhone it had a dent on the side, I have brought it close to the original condition and managed to push the new screen in, so this might be the issue this time. I'll see what I can do and update you. Thanks.
