Iomega zip 250 drivers

Where can I find drivers to operate my Iomega zip 250 external drive. Would like to see if I have any thing of importance's on the disks.

Update (04/21/2017)

Believe it or not after I post the question I decided to plug in the Iomega external 250 zip drive in to USB port. Then I put a disk in and it showed up as a drive on desk top, double click and it open up showing what i have on the disk. I have a MacBook pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) with OS Sierra 10.12.4.

I guess I should have tried before posting question. We had use this zip drive on my wife 2007 I Mac until the teri gig hard drive came out. Hope this helps any one.

What is the version of Mac OS-X you are using? And which version of Zip drive do you have a USB or FireWire?

If you can, please give us the exact model of your system Apple made quite a few different versions of the 13" MacBook Pro.

Plug in your systems S/N here to locate yours: EveryMac - Lookup then tell us what you have (paste the systems URL into your Q makes it easy)

Sorry about taking so long to respond but I just tried sticking the zip drive into USB port and it work. I was able to view what was on the disk. So I guess newer computers will accept a old zip drive through the USB port. Thanks for the help.

Those aren't mac drivers.

Unfortunately, I believe that that only works on a windows PC. As ZIP disks haven't been used on macs since the late '90's. So you would either need a pc to use it or an old mac with a ZIP drive. Or if a friend of yours has a pc or an old pc that you can use, that works too. You just need a PC or an old macintosh with a ZIP Drive.

Hope this helps, if it did please hit the accept answer button!

@cam2363 - The Zip drive worked on both Mac & Windows systems.

完成的

@danj Yes but im not sure it works on modern macs. I did mention that it worked on older macs. I said that this zip drive only works on windows pc and older macs have zip drives

@cam2363 - I do believe the OS has native support for it (at least the older versions of OS-X {32bit} did). I still have one kicking around but haven't used it in years. I'll see if I can dust it off this weekend. The Iomega supplied driver & tools aren't really needed to read/write the disk only in formatting and partitioning it. Iomega never offered anything newer than 10.4.x Tiger as they went out of business.

Iomega offered two versions of the ZIP250 drive: USB or FireWire. So the version the OP has will be a factor on which can connect to the system.

@danj And thats sort of my point. This mac is newer and probably running either sierra or el cap. If the OP tried hooking it up and it didn't work, it won't as the software is too new.

@cam2363 - We don't know what they have here so thats just conjecture. Its best to find out then work it out from there.

It's never a good idea to leap into water unless you know its deep enough ;-}
