Why are my apps not working?

this might mean that the apps are not compatible with your itouch or the firmware that you have installed on it. Some apps, created by different unpublished publishers, do not really work. I found this out personally. Try updating your firmware. And if that doesn't work, have you jailbroken your iPod touch? That might be another problem.
