loose connection prevents charging on MacBook Pro 15" 2008
Recent problem: the connection is loose to the magsafe power port, it's difficult to get it to charge unless I push and wiggle it till it seems seated, it stays for a few secs, but then releases itself and the connection is not good enough for recharge. I've managed to get it to stay after several attempts, but the problem will only get worse so want to get it sorted before it won't charge at all. Incidentally the magnetic plug is very hot too. Can I replace the magsafe power port easily?

Thanks very much for such a clear answer. Whether I am capable of working on it I'm not sure, but that's my problem, at least it looks as though there is a way of replacing it. Thanks once again.
