TouchID intermittent after screen replacement.

I recently replaced my cracked screen, moving the original home button from my old screen.

TouchID ever since works intermittently. One minute it will be working and the next it won't. I've noticed that if I lay the phone flat on a table, face down, and knock on the back a few times, most of the time TouchID starts working again until the phone is jostled around.

The button is properly seated, and the connector appears properly seated, the shield behind the home button is properly tightened but not too tight, and the flex cable appears undamaged. Powering on and off seems to have no effect.

Can anyone recommend what to look at next?

After checking connectors it was still doing it. Decided to double check everything, did a backup then a Dfu restore.

Restored from backup and it seems to be working touch wood.

On the board, check the connectors (lcd/digitizer/home flex/front camera) and try to clean away any debris that might be obstructing a flush connection. If that is not the case, the long home button flex cable that run behind the metal plate might be defective.

Thanks. I'd already checked the home button repeatedly but didn't think to check th screen connectors. One of them seemed slightly loose so I'll see how that's goes.

Check the Home button connector and make sure all pins are in straight lines. remove any extra stuff on connector both on the home button and on motherboard. aslo check the home button flex. replacing it might solved the issue.
