How can I fix my controller's connector?

My Game Cube controller's connector is clearly with a faulty wiring. If I hold the wire in a very specific position while connected to my Wii, it works perfectly. So, how can I fix that? the connector looks rather complicated to me, and I don't know how to tear it apart.
