Blue Screen on iMac
after grey screen computer hangs on blue screen.
It is not completing the boot sequence. See if it will boot from the original system installation disk. If so, go to the second screen pull down menu to Utilities -> disk utility and see if you can repair the hard drive.

This machine falls into the bad capacitor issue group. Open the unit and inspect the capacitors for swelling and/or corrosion. Poor luck has been had with replacing these caps. Power supply replacement will generally keep the machine running for another year if it goes first. To know the problem look at the diagnostic LEDs on the motherboard. There is a wealth of information on this site about this issue, do a search for capacitor. also check at www.jimwarholic.com
Insert your restore disk and try to run a diagnostic on the hardware. Sounds like your harddrive might be dying on you.

After doing that it says, video RAM problem.
Then your Video RAM aka Graphics card has gone bad
Could be the old iMac G5 capacitor problem. Use search on other posts regarding this topic.
