Issue with video after installing new hard drive
Hello! I've searched for this problem in past posts but I didn't see it, I hope it hasn't been mentioned already! Today, with the help of a friend, I replaced my failing seagate 500GB hard drive with a 2TB barracuda seagate hard drive. I followed the tutorial on this website to a tee. (I even wore rubber gloves to avoid finger prints lol.) Anyway, after I installed the drive and put the computer back together, and started to install mac OS, there was green gittery pixels all over the screen. At first I thought I had some how damaged the LCD but then when OS was done installing and going through the intro sequance movie, I see that alot of the screen was coming up green and the gittery pixels were moving all around. I'm assuming (and hoping) this is a video issue caused by an improperly seated cable from the LCD screen. I wasn't sure I had it all the way in as it was hard to see with the poor lighting I was using. Has anyone encountered this issue before? If so, what was the problem/soloution? Should I just take it apart again and re seat the cables? Please educate me!!! :)

Ok, so I took it apart again, unplugged and re plugged everything. Now it's different. I have red pixel issues during the white screen loading (before nothing odd happened during white screen), HOWEVER alot of the pixel noise is gone once it's logged into OSX. There was a horizontal and vertical line that are both no longer there and most of the gittery pixels are gone, however, some still remain and in the same areas as before. I guess I'll do it again lol

So I installed Windows 7 on my iMac and all the visual issues have stopped. Even the red pixels on the white screen, everything looks perfect. Odd.
