Can I add RAM to a RCA Cambio 10.1" windows 10?

Can i add RAM to a RCA Cambio 10.1" windows 10? If not, then what type of 2in1 can I install more RAM and a better processor?

Model Number W101 V2

Operating System Windows 10

Chip Quad Core

Chipset Model Number Intel Atom Z3735

Resolution 1280×800

Screen Features 10.1″

RAM 2GB

RAM Type DDR3L

I just need something small that's fast, don't care about the other kind of memory(I use SD cards and thumb drives for that). Just fast, up to date, and small. Something that doesn't use a mobile format, because I can't get on every kind of site with mobile(I mean I could just use a phone for that). I was kinda cheaping out when picking it out.

......please do give reference to one that may be what I'm looking for.....

You can but it will VOID the warranty. Need to Root your system and use your SDCard as your internal Ram. The catch is you cant use the SDcard for storage. It will be permanent for RAM.

I m using the Cambrio VR101r (2Gig Ram 1.8 Processor and it works great. To get the best performance (disable) all startup programs from task manager. Win Update to ver 1809 completely up to date. Then stop SYSMAIN in services, Stop windows update. Uninstall all the bloated software for Win 10 in your STARTUP screen. OR downdload OSO SHUTUP software a very tiny app it will do it for you.

I use my 2in1 a lot. It works good with Office, Browsing the internet (use a small browser like Vivaldi) I download torrents files and so on create ISO files watch movies and so on.

Clip a USB hub to your to your 2in1 to get more out of it. WIFI connect quick.

BOTTOM LINE >>>for $100.00 its Awesome! Your not going to do gaming or have 20 windows open and expect miracles. But for simple and medium tasks its great.

@unaliveiam no you cannot. both RAM and processor are soldered to the motherboard. Neither one can be exchanged/upgraded.

The ram for this kind of computer is 2 GB but adding more ram up to 4 or 8 GB's would be nice although apparently the designers of the system fiddling to allow for upgrades could render the product costly. You then are using just another laptop.

Most modern laptops have their processors soldered to the motherboard, especially 2-in-1s. Ram is only sometimes soldered, but in this case it is. Perhaps if you want more upgrade capability you should get a regular laptop with a touch screen. I could recommend a few good ones.

i have an OLDER RCA with only 1Gb - HOW CAN I UPGRADE to windows 10 - 1809 ?

everytime i boot up, it says “you need to upgrade” downloads, then tries to install, reports a Ramdisk problem, and reverts back to the older 12-something-something.

this machine suits my needs for it, but i am tired of turning it on to wait 15 minutes to use it EVERY time !!!

very annoying.

is there anything that can be done to get the newer version on - surely i cannot be the only person that has this RCA 1Gb version that cannot upgrade.

1GB isn't enough RAM to run windows 10. Sorry.

To reduce wait times on boot install Lubuntu or related Linux distro. Googles bloatware use a lot of system resources

Sorry but Ubuntu and Linux SUCKS!

Load time for apps is like 1000 years compared to windows.

I ran Ubuntu 20 on 4th gen i7 with 24gb ram and the wait time (LAG) was horrendous. Ubuntu 18 crashes too %#*@ much. Ubuntu 17 was ok in a way. Older Ubuntu lagggggggggggggggggggg.

Can't do anything fun on Linux except rip, steal, take, watch - music videos, porns, mp3, mp4. BORING sh*t. The apps for Ubuntu sucks too. Too laggy or not enough features AND encoding and decoding engines SUCKS on quality.

LOL the ONLY thing Linux is good for are: HACKING and Corporate uses.

For personal use...quality is 1000% Windows and software and apps created for windows.

AND yes Windows 8.1 and Win 10 boot time leaves Ubuntu 20 ... IN THE DUST!

Best option would be to just buy a nice inexpensive $250 laptop with 4g RAM - 8g RAM.

LOL bought the RCA 2g Windows 10 for my little girl, couple years back.

She don't even touch now ... that she has the 8g RAM Samsung Galaxy A70 with 512 microSD.

Linux is one of the fastest OS options out there. i have no idea how you messed up but i can watch a 1080 p youtube video with no lag whatsoever on a win 98 machine with xubuntu.

as for the RCA issue, there is a respun ubuntu distro out there that has been made custom for the intel atom this thing has on board. it kind of works but its just not that good of a machine. shouldn't have been able to be put to market imo. Mine came shipped with Win10 with 1gb. it was awful.
