Can I change for 16Gb (8Gb + 8Gb)?

Hi! My name is Ana and I'm from Portugal!

I've been searching on the internet and sometimes people say that apple says it cant (for money porpuses) and other people that confirm that it works!

I'm currently using (4Gb + 4Gb) and everytime I run photoshop and capture one the pc dies.

I would like to know if it would be possible to switch to 8gb + 8gb. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201165 I've seen this page but this is really confusing for me

Also, is this the best way to make to pc work faster?

Thanks for everything,

Best wishes,

For reference: MacBook Pro 13" 2.5 GHz i5 (Mid-2012) Note the amount of RAM this system can support is 16 GB!

What Apple has listed is what they tested. At the time larger RAM modules weren't available which is why Apple only lists 8 GB as the max.

The MacBook Pro system I'm using to write this has 16 GB of RAM. But you should also look at going with a large SSD (512 GB or 1TB) if you want use Photoshop or any other image/video editing app.
