Backlight sensor is blown

Hi there

I was doing work on an iphone 6 yesterday, and i forgot to disconnect the battery connector when working on the phone. When i tried to boot it up the screen won¨t turn on, and connecting to itunes it tells me error 4005 without the lcd on it. Does any of you have any experience and helpfull thing that can rescue my iphone or is it a total loose ?

I am very confused at your problem. The title says backlight sensor is broken, error 4005 is a restoration error and I don't know what you're exactly asking. Is it about how to recover data, fix the screen or what?

Yes. I'm not new to this, have tried everything

You said "Yes" but to what portion of my question?

I would try these steps in order.

1- Open the phone, take out the board and check ( J1111 ) if it's damaged

or shorted repair it. Try to restore the phone without connecting the

front camera flex.

2- Check ( U0301 ) IC if it's cracked or damaged, resolder or replace.

3- Take out the board and remove the metal sheild over the NAND chip

(the U0604 chip in the picture). check if ther is any damaged component

around the chip, or if there any water damage (clean it ).

Check if there is any shorted (capacitor, resistor, coil) around the chip

then replace it.

4- resolder the NAND chip using heater (use the same tempereture you

use usually to remove ICs). heat for about 15 seconds and don't forget

to protect the ICs around the chip.

5- Replace the NAND chip but be carfull ( don't heat to much cause you

got the CPU in the other side). Don't go to this step befor being sure

that you did all the previous steps and there is no problem connecting

to Apple server.

You can download the schematic here. It's $12.00 but a very reputable source. This will show you the 1.8v rail as well as other components. You should also be able to search for each part with control F I believe. I could be wrong on search method though.

Error 4005 is pp1v8 shorted. Pp1v8 is the sleep wake voltage of the board. The error is nand failed to write as the nand memory's main voltage is pp1v8. The fault is in the backlight driver ic or the lcd pmu. Most likly the driver. If you replace the driver yourself use caution not to use excessive heat as the proximity to the CPU and ram

Hi

Where is pp1v8 placed ?

完成的

Carsten pp1v8 is the board wake voltage. It powers the memory, switches the trackpad ic, audio codec, cpu, camera and backlight driver.

完成的

You can use the probe point pp2510 second point up on the right of the board above the right hand side connector. But I am certain the backlight driver will need replacing
